It’s a Spring Thing
Not sure what it is about this time of year, maybe it’s because of tradition or the ending of the winter-time Seasonal Affective Disorder symptoms, but I always want to start really getting my shit together around this time. I’ve recently started writing another of my “To Do” lists to get through and it’s a big one. Mostly it contains things like getting back to my art projects, refreshing websites, cleaning up my rooms, getting my Pop collection back in order, and other things of that nature. Now to just, do all the things.
Thanks to my new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, I can render artworks like never before. When I first got it though, I was suffering from a case of artist’s block. Now, I’ve finally broken free of said block and have been rendering like crazy the past couple of days. I finished a new artwork the day before yesterday, and I’ll probably have more completed today if I can manage to focus on one and only one at a time rather than jumping from one to another and back like a hyper froggy. I’ve just got so many ideas in my head right now plus so many more in my “notebook of ideas” and I want to do them ALL. One day I will learn patience. I don’t see that day happening anytime soon.
In addition to artworks, I also need to focus on my commercial art projects for Renderosity. I managed to create one clothing texture product so far. It has passed testing already and is in the queue for release into the marketplace. I haven’t yet picked out what my next commercial art project will be. I haven’t even decided whether it will be a clothing texture set or a character yet. I’ve got a long list of ideas for new products that I want to create. Like the artworks, just got to find the patience to focus on one at a time and do one then the next. We’ll see how that works out.
I hadn’t planned on creating a new version of my Dream 9 Studios website for this year but that’s what ended up happening after some technical issues with my Jetpack plugin I ran into about a week or so ago. I never did end up figuring out or fixing the aforementioned tech issue (I just decided to disable that element of the plugin), but I did improve the website quite a bit so there’s that. (I do not plan on doing the same for this site. It’s quite fine as-is.) I would greatly appreciate it if you would check out the new v2022 of Dream 9 Studios as I did put quite a bit of work into it and made several improvements and changes. There’s new art there too!
As for the cleaning, my rooms are nowhere near as bad as they have been in the past. I seem to have done a fairly good job of keeping them somewhat decent throughout the intervening months. Still, there’s more than a little work that needs to be done in terms of tidying up my living area. Most of the work will involve getting empty boxes out of here, cleaning off my computer desks, and lots of vacuuming. I managed to do some vacuuming the other day and cleaned up off my work desk until I could see through it again (it’s glass). Yesterday I finally got rid of all the empty boxes. Yay! Now to just tidy up a few more things and then vacuum everything once again.
I also have some work to do in terms of my Funko Pop Collection. I just now added around 6 or 7 new photos to the Collection Gallery of my latest Pop acquisitions. I still need to get ID stickers on all of my newest Pops and get all of those into their correct spots on my display shelves. For that, I’ll need to find my step ladder because all of the Marvel TV Pops I just got, of course, go on the highest damn shelf that I’ve got. Oh, and remember how I said I was going to cap my collection at 300? I just made a preorder that will make my collection surpass the 350 mark. I’ve never been good at setting limits or goals or anything of that nature. Hmm, I had better make sure I’ve got shelf space for those preorders or else I’ll need more shelves.
I even got my spring haircut the other day. (I only get my hair cut once a year or so.) It’s shorter than I meant for it to be as I keep forgetting that it fluffs up quite a bit when it gets cut short. At least I had enough cut off to make a sizable charity donation. That reminds me, I need to mail that out tomorrow. Getting all that hair cut off has helped my headaches quite a bit. Almost as much as the nerve blockers the neurologist injected into the back of my head the week before last. Now if I can somehow get rid of the pain caused by my lifelong bad habit of teeth grinding, I’ll be all set.
I had better shut up now or nothing else on my “to do” list will be “to done“. Thank you for viewing. Until next time!
