In An Unfunky Funk
The past few weeks since my last entry have not been good. My doctors have been moving around the times of day that I take certain medications and changing the dosages of other medications while also cutting some medications completely out of my regimen. (The goal is to figure out why I am also so severely fatigued no matter how much sleep I get.) I’m always glad to take less pills and be less “medicated” but my brain is being put through the wringer by all this. My sleep schedule can’t even be legitimately called a “schedule” anymore and I’m having horrific and vivid nightmares every night. Oh, add to that getting the inevitable feeling that I’m about to slip into another depressive phase. So yeah, I’m not doing too well. That said, I’m doing my absolute best to get through it the only ways I know how.
One thing I’ve been doing to get my mind off of things is to play new and different video games. I finally finished Jedi Fallen Order a week or so ago then I started replaying Jade Empire but stopped halfway through my second playthrough to first work and then to play something else. Yesterday I finished Syberia: The World Before. (I’ll try to write some game reviews about everything that I’ve been playing and plan to play and post them on this blog in the Gaming Stuff part of my Journal.) Next up will be Guardians of the Galaxy. I think the other games I have in my queue are Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, Control, A Plague Tale, Star Wars Squadrons, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Red Dead Redemption 2, and I forgot what else I have lined up on my main PC. Here on my notebook PC, I have some smaller/less graphic intensive games to play including Eastshade, Aporia: Beyond the Valley, and Alone in Space. I would also like to replay Beyond Good & Evil as it’s been quite a while since I last played through it. Between all that and my work on The Sims 4, I should be able to take my mind off things for quite some time. Hopefully it will be as long as needed. (BTW, if you want to friend me on Steam, here is my profile. If you are also or instead on GOG, my profile for that is here.)
Speaking of my work on The Sims 4, I’m still quite into modding the game and working my Simularity website. In regard to the latter, I’m actually working on a brand new 2022 version of the Simularity website with several improvements, new features, and streamlining of older stuff. Due to the fact I was totally absorbed in the game Syberia: The World Before for most of yesterday, I’ll try to focus and work today on Sims 4 mods and such. I’m trying, although not quite succeeding, to balance everything that I do so that I have some time each day to do all the things I want and need to do rather than just obsessing about one thing until I become obsessed with something else. So far, I’ve managed to balance gaming, modding, and website building but I haven’t gotten back to my art yet, so I call that a fail.
As for my art, I want to get back to it and soon but I’m currently just not “there” yet. I am however working to get my Etsy account reactivated so that I can try to sell prints of my artworks on there. So far, I still have some more work to do setting things up on the backend before I can start listing prints and selling them. I’ll keep you posted.
That’s all for now as I am tired, and my brain is running on empty. I’ll try to write and post some game reviews in the near future. Thanks for viewing.
